The Riverside Restaurant, West Bay, Dorset

If you are keen for a day trip to the Dorset coast, then why not have lunch at The Riverside in West Bay. It's one of our family favourites. Tamsyn's mother is particularly fond of their sea bass.

They have consistently been on of the South West's best fish restaurants for many years and continue to do so in a very relaxed and unpretentious way.

Stourhead Estate - For walks and lunch!

We're so lucky to have Stourhead on our doorstep. As you can see from these photos, the gardens and grounds are a jewel in the National Trust crown.

A visit to Stourhead makes a great day trip, especially when you settle in after a pipe-opening walk, into a cosy meal or pint of ale at the Spreadeagle Pub.

There's also a fantastic farm shop on the grounds as well. Their cheese, bacon and sausages are particularly good.

At the Chapel

We are delighted that At the Chapel has opened in Bruton. Their fresh bread is sensational as is their pizza that they bake in their enormous wood fired oven. We're so lucky to have them.

You can also pop in for fantastic lunches and dinner, that are so good the Guardian's food critic almost gave it a 10.

They also have a brilliant wine store and serve coffee that makes you think you're in Rome.

Welcome

Welcome to Acorn Cottage in the sleepy village of South Brewham in Somerset, looking up at Alfred's Tower on the Stourhead Estate, and down at the River Brue.

We've renovated Acorn Cottage into a chic 2+2 cottage. From your base you can explore the surrounding countryside and are within striking distance from Bristol, Bath, Sherborne and the magnificent Dorset coast.
